Imprint Bookshop, formerly Imprint Bookstore, has been serving the Port Townsend community, Jefferson County residents, and tourists from around the world for nearly 50 years.
In 1981, the bookstore moved into the ground floor of the historic John Siebenbaum Building at 820 Water Street, when founder Lindy Caine relocated it from an undisclosed original location. In 1983, Judy and David Hartman purchased the bookstore from Lindy, managing it for the next 31 years. Meanwhile, Anna and Peter Quinn founded The Writers’ Workshoppe in 2008 in the James & Hastings Building. They later purchased Imprint Bookstore from Judy and David in February 2014, merging it with The Writers’ Workshoppe. On October 1, 2019, Anna and Peter sold the combined business to Samantha Ladwig and Thom Nienow. After five years of stewardship, which included guiding the business through a global pandemic, Sam and Thom sold Imprint Bookstore to current owners John Blomgren and Garrett Jones on November 1, 2024. With this transition, The Writers' Workshoppe was put on hiatus, and the business returned to its roots in bookselling, rebranded as Imprint Bookshop. |
